Celebrating the Wins

Working in the event industry can take away some of the excitement, after being part of elaborate and detailed executions it can be hard to maintain the excitement and celebrate when things go right. Completing any level of event is something to celebrate, not only for suppliers but for hosts too!

We pour our hearts into making these events perfect and taking the time afterwards to be proud of this achievement can be difficult, we've discovered 5 different methods to celebrate the wins.

The Simple and the Low-Key

Sometimes a glass of wine and a ‘cheers’ with the team that made it happen is enough! If you’re providing catering for an event then the best time to take a grateful moment is after dinner has been served, everything after now is relatively smooth sailing, usually a speech (especially at weddings) and a dessert is all that remains.

The Big Deal Celebration

Treating yourself to a fancy meal with your biggest supporters is a great way to thank everyone around the table for the hard work they put in – including yourself! For large scale events, like charity galas or an elaborate wedding, taking this moment with the team to enjoy each other’s company away from the stress of perfection just may be exactly what you need to reignite that passion.

Peace and Quiet

Away from the panic of perfection and the stress of the never-guaranteed certainty is where you might need to go to sit in your accomplishment. For some, a massage at their favourite parlour, for others a detox weekend away from the busy-ness and the post event buzz.

Maintaining the Buzz

For some, maintaining the excitement is easier, but channelling the excitement is the challenge. Working on creative hobbies is a great way to turn that emotion into motivation and create something unique to remember the event by.

Loud and Proud

Making noise about the completion of an event can bring the same level of satisfaction sometimes. Not necessarily bragging, but somewhere close to it, talking about your achievement shows you’re proud of yourself and your team – especially if your event has lots of moving parts or multiple suppliers.

One thing all these celebrations have in common is acknowledging your achievements. Completing an event is an achievement, getting the right supplier is an achievement, making the final decisions on the menu is an achievement, and they should all be celebrated. What we have the luxury at Bars at Yours with a the contact list we’ve gathered over the years. Catering companies, alcohol suppliers, decoration services, a variety of venues, custom fit-out options, indoor-outdoor bar solutions, and more! Developing a list like this takes time, and knowing what quality is or not takes experience. Celebrating the Wins take shape in any way you’d like, and the team you work with to make it happen is just as important as the event itself, so celebrate your hard work! As you know by now, planning events is a long, tedious process, so you deserve it.
